The Online Medical Dictionary is the Hypochondriac's Bible |

Sensible, level-headed people know how to use an online medical dictionary properly. They use an online medical dictionary to check certain symptoms so that they don’t have to bother their physician when it isn’t necessary. For example, if your neck felt a little bit sore you might use an online medical dictionary and find out that the cause was probably that you slept in an awkward position the night before, and the discomfort should disappear in a day or so. If the pain increased significantly or lasted longer than a few days, you would then book an appointment with your doctor. Normal people use an online medical dictionary sensibly, but hypochondriacs don’t. The online medical dictionary is the hypochondriac’s Bible. When a hypochondriac has a slight headache from working in the garden for half an hour in summer, he checks the online medical dictionary and subsequently books himself into the emergency room at the local hospital, claiming that he has a brain tumor. Hypochondriacs should be banned from perusing an online medical dictionary, because by using them they make the average physician’s job more difficult than it should be.
